"I wear this butterfly dress that's actually 10,000 feathers hand painted to loo like monarch butterflies," Banks said. "That's the kind of detail we're dealing with on this film."
Banks was in hair and makeup for about three to four hours every day before shooting.
Lenny Kravitz, who plays Katniss' stylist Cinna, makes a much more subtle statement. He wore a sliver of gold eyeliner in the first flick, but had hoped to change things up for Catching Fire.
"We tried so many things for hours and hours and we went right back to the simple gold eyeliner," the rocker said.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is in theaters on Nov. 22.
